As of this year, that number has exceeded 2 million. This rapid growth has led to increased traffic congestion and a worsening environmental situation,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nThe Prime Minister emphasized that the proposed legislation is aimed at addressing both ecological concerns and public health, as well as ensuring safer and more comfortable mobility for citizens. \u201cThe draft law includes a few limited exceptions, but fundamentally, it is important that vehicles older than six years are no longer imported into the country,\u201d Kobakhidze stated.<br \/>\nBy the end of 2025, in total 1,914,908 vehicles had been registered in Georgia.<br \/>\nAs per the Sakstat data, roughly 80% of registered vehicles in the country are over 10 years, 14% are aged 5 -10 years, 3.2% are between 2 and 5 years, and 2% are under 2 years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Georgian government has submitted a draft law to parliament that would ban the import of vehicles older than six years, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at government session.
