A delegation from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev, participated in the third annual meeting of the CAREC Working Group on Skills Development. This meeting continued the consistent work begun at the first meeting in Tashkent in February 2024, where the foundations for regional cooperation in skills development were laid, and then continued during the second consultation meeting, where the project was refocused on developing green skills, climate-resilient agriculture, and just transition issues.
\nFor Turkmenistan, participation in this work is of strategic importance. The CAREC platform enables the development of joint approaches to modernizing higher and vocational education, strengthening links with the labor market, and promoting academic mobility, applied research, short courses, and new forms of training in priority areas.
\nIt is particularly valuable that Turkmenistan has already engaged in the practical implementation of these approaches. The knowledge gained was used to prepare methodological recommendations for developing forecasting of in-demand skills and integrating approaches related to green skills and a just transition into national education policies.
\nThe results of this meeting are important in the context of the implementation of the Higher Education Development Strategy of Turkmenistan for 2026\u20132052, particularly in identifying in-demand skills and forecasting the skills that will be in demand in the medium term. Participation in the project contributes to updating the content of educational programs, developing international university cooperation, strengthening the research potential of universities, and training specialists with modern knowledge and skills in demand in the context of sustainable development and technological change.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
