The Turkmenistan Figure Skating Championships, timed to coincide with World Health Day, were held at the Winter Sports Complex. Nineteen competitors took to the ice in three categories, as reported by the turkmenistan.gov.tm.
\nMaria Vyzhlakova, Veronika Ovezova, and Melisa Yuce took home prizes in the Basic category.
\nAylar Ekyayeva, Myahrijemal Rozyeva, and Alena Goryunova won in the Basic Novice category.
\nLeyla Gaylyeva (women’s) and Rahman Khodjamkuliev (men’s) won prizes in the Intermediate and Advanced Novice categories.
\nCoaches at the Sports School of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports undergo advanced training, including training with professional choreographers. Among the mentors are young professionals. For example, Ilina Karimova, a graduate of the Belarusian State University of Physical Education, has been working as the national coach of the youth team since 2019. Many of the current championship’s winners perform under her guidance.
\nIlina Karimova noted that she began training in 2007 and won gold at the Dubai Gold Cup junior international tournament in 2012.
\nThe championship has concluded, but the athletes continue training. Their main goal is to qualify and represent Turkmenistan at the Children of Asia International Sports Games in Krasnoyarsk in 2027.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
