A Turkmen-Italian fashion show, a collaboration between renowned Italian designers Gloria Trevisani and Claudia Bellini and talented Turkmen designer Jennet Agayeva, was held yesterday at the exhibition gallery of the State Academy of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. The \u201cWeLoveModainItaly\u2014Ashgabat\u201d fashion show, part of the \u201cAshgabat Fashion Long Weekend\u201d event commemorating Made in Italy Day from April 5th to 8th, was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Italy in Ashgabat.<\/p>\n

During the initial days of the Made in Italy Day event, masterclasses were conducted with the participation of the Italian guests, leading Turkmen designers, and students from the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the State Academy of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. These sessions facilitated an exchange of views on the history of Turkmen and Italian fashion. Subsequently, the designers jointly prepared a special collection for the Turkmen-Italian fashion show.<\/p>\n

At the opening ceremony of \u201cWeLoveModainItaly\u2014Ashgabat\u201d fashion show, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to Turkmenistan, Luigi Ferrari, emphasized that the bilateral cooperation in the cultural events between two countries. The Ambassador also expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the State Academy of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan for their assistance in organizing this event.<\/p>\n

The fashion show, attended by employees of diplomatic missions in the country, residents, and guests of the city, was met with enthusiastic applause. At the end of the ceremony, the Italian designers expressed their sincere admiration.<\/p>\n

\u2014 \u201cI love making and sewing women\u2019s clothing, a profession that is a legacy from my family\u201d said Claudia Bellini, Italian designer and second-generation manager of the 38-year-old fashion house and brand \u201cClaudia Bellini.\u201d \u201cI regularly incorporate designs from historical costumes into my work. It was a wonderful experience for me to come to Turkmenistan, to get to know the Turkmen people, and to study the nationality and culture of this place. I intend to continue effective collaboration with the Turkmen side in the future, to gain such experience, and to use the national character of Turkmen costumes in my new works.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
