On 22 April, a meeting took place at the European Parliament between the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Belgium Sapar Palvanov and the Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the European Parliament Sylwia Kosinska
\nDuring the meeting, the Ambassador delivered an official invitation letter addressed to the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to attend the International Forum on Peace and Trust, scheduled to be held on December 12, 2025, in Ashgabat.
\nThe parties discussed current issues on the international and regional agenda, exchanged views on contemporary geopolitical processes, and emphasized the growing importance of peaceful dialogue and multilateral cooperation amid global challenges.
\nSpecial attention was given to Turkmenistan\u2019s initiative to declare 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust. The Ambassador noted that this coincides with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan\u2019s neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. He underlined the significance of the upcoming forum in Ashgabat as a platform for promoting the principles of open dialogue and trust between nations.
\nIn turn, Ms. Sylwia Kosinska praised Turkmenistan\u2019s peace-promoting initiatives and expressed interest in further developing interparliamentary cooperation.
