\nTwo weeks after the surgery, the preliminary results are extremely encouraging.
\n\u201cThe kidney immediately produced a large volume of urine, and the patient\u2019s kidney function improved immediately,\u201d Dr. Nassiri said. \u201cThere was no need for dialysis after the procedure, and urine drained properly into the new bladder.\u201d
