The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan meets with the Mr. Zhao Leji, the Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China<\/p>\n
As part of the working visit to the People’s Republic of China, Delegation led by the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan held comprehensive meeting with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Zhao Leji.
\nDuring the meeting, the significance of the adoption of the United Nations General Assembly Resolutions \u00ab2025 – The Year of International Peace and Confidence\u00bb and \u00abThe Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan\u00bb by the initiatives of Turkmenistan was emphasized, and the Turkmen side expressed gratitude to the People’s Republic of China for supporting these initiatives of Turkmenistan.
\nThe mutual support of Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China for their initiatives on the stage of the United Nations and the importance of the friendly relations established at the highest level were particularly emphasized.
\nIn this regard, special attention has paid to the results of bilateral agreements reached in various fields during the meeting of the Leaders of the two countries during the visit of the Honorable President of Turkmenistan to the People’s Republic of China. By this, the issues of cooperation at the parliamentary level in the \u00abCentral Asia – China\u00bb format, as well as the establishment of the \u00abCentral Asia – China\u00bb Inter-Parliamentary Council in the future and holding a joint forum \u00abTurkmenistan – China: Women and Youth\u00bb were discussed.
\nDuring the conversation, the importance of improving the work of parliamentary friendship groups, intensifying relations between related committees, young and women parliamentarians, and joint activities will contribute to the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries aimed at holding meetings and conferences at the parliamentary level was emphasized.
\nAt the meeting, the host side expressed their readiness to further expanding the scope of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China in such areas as science-education, healthcare, and agriculture.
\nMs. D. Gulmanova expressed confidence that the meetings and talks during the visit will contribute to further strengthening bilateral inter-parliamentary relations. She also stated that Turkmenistan highly values inter-parliamentary relations with the People’s Republic of China and is ready to further developing them in all areas.
