On May 26-27, 2025, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Azerbaijan, jointly with the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the Khazar University of Azerbaijan, held an International Scientific Symposium in Baku on the theme \u201cPast, Present and Future of Oguz Turkmens\u201d, dedicated to the declaration of 2025 as the \u201cInternational Year of Peace and Trust\u201d.
\nThe event was attended by representatives and scientists of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Turkmens from T\u00fcrkiye, Iraq and Uzbekistan.
\nThe speakers touched upon the origins of Turkmen people, des\u00e7ribed the Oguzes, one of the most ancient Turkic peoples, and emphasized that the ancestors of the Turkmen established large states in ancient times.
\nIt was noted that, despite the difficult periods of their history, the Turkmen people have always promoted the culture of peace, neutral and friendly relations. Today, these principles are reflected in the policy of positive neutrality of Turkmenistan, which is based on the ideals of humanism and peacefulness inherited from our ancestors.
\nAlso, within the framework of this symposium, a presentation of the book by of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov \u201cMagtymguly \u2013 the Sage of the World\u201d was held.
