On June 30, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Turkmenistan Ms. Faryal Leghari.
\nAt the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Leghari presented copies of her credentials to the Turkmen side.
\nThe Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan congratulated the Ambassador on her appointment to the responsible post and expressed readiness of the Turkmen side to provide comprehensive assistance in the successful implementation of her diplomatic mission.
\nDuring the meeting, the sides discussed key aspects of bilateral relations in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, as well as cultural-humanitarian fields.
\nThe diplomats emphasized that regular contact at the highest state level is the main factor of the consistent development of Turkmen-Pakistani ties on a wide range of spheres.
\nThey noted the effectiveness of partnership within the framework of regional and international structures, in particular the UN, OIC and ECO.
\nSpeaking about the significance of the International Year of Peace and Trust and the upcoming International Forum in honor of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan\u2019s permanent neutrality, the Foreign Minister underlined that the Islamabad Declaration of 1995 was one of the first international documents that laid the foundation for the Resolution \u201cOn the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan\u201d unanimously adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 12, 1995.
\nIn addition, the sides discussed cooperation on energy and transport . The sides touched upon the construction of a transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India, power transmission lines, as well as a fiber-optic communications along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route.
\nAt the end of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Turkmenistan Ms.Faryal Leghari assured that she will make every effort to further develop cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
