Two new fertilizer plants are set to open in the country\u2019s eastern region. Swiss engineering company Casale has announced a contract with South Korean Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co. to develop design documentation for the plants, the country\u2019s MIC reported.
\nThe project, commissioned by the Turkmenchemistry State Concern, will significantly expand Casale\u2019s presence in the Central Asian fertilizer sector. The new plants will specialize in the production of granular ammonium sulfate (GA) and granular single superphosphate (GSSP).
\nOnce completed, the complex will produce 350,000 metric tons of GSSP per year using Casale\u2019s CULTIVA-SPhos technology and 100,000 metric tons of GA per year using the CULTIVA-PIPEX system. These fertilizers are widely used in agriculture to improve soil quality and increase crop yields.
