Today, a Parliamentary Forum was held in Avaza National Tourist Zone within the framework of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.<\/p>\n

The main objectives of the forum are to share experiences gained in implementing the Vienna Programme of Action, as well as to create opportunities for parliamentarians to assist in the implementation of the Awaza Programme of Action, to facilitate the exchange of experiences in order to accelerate the implementation of the new Programme of Action through the political work of parliamentarians at the local, national and regional levels, and to develop and share recommendations on specific measures for parliaments of landlocked developing countries to incorporate the priorities of the Decade of Action into their legislative and other activities.<\/p>\n

The parliaments of the LLDCs play an important role in the implementation of the Awaza Programme of Action, aimed at addressing issues related to their geographical location. As legislative bodies, parliaments ensure the adoption and implementation of national laws that contribute to the improvement of transport infrastructure, the development of regional cooperation and the strengthening of economic stability.<\/p>\n

In addition, parliamentarians serve as an important bridge between governments, civil society and international partners, ensuring transparency, accountability and inclusiveness in the implementation of the Decade of Action. Their active participation contributes to the mobilization of resources and coordination of actions at the national and regional levels, which is a necessary condition for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n

Parliaments of the UNDAF also play a key role in monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the Programme. This allows them to identify existing problems in a timely manner and determine strategic directions. As a result of their legislative and oversight functions, parliamentarians contribute to creating a favorable environment for investment and innovation.<\/p>\n

Organized by the Parliament of Turkmenistan, in cooperation with the Inter-Parliamentary Union of the Office of the United Nations High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing States and Small Island Developing States, this large-scale forum is attended by heads of state and parliaments of landlocked developing countries, as well as representatives of international organizations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
