\nDuring the visit, political consultations were held between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries. Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmed Gurbanov represented Turkmenistan, and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Iraq Mohammed Bahr Al-Ulum represented Iraq.
\nThe parties exchanged views on the development of political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as key areas of the bilateral agenda.
\nThe diplomats emphasized the importance of high-level contacts, which provide impetus for the development of bilateral cooperation. In this context, the parties discussed issues related to the International Conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, scheduled for December in Ashgabat.
\nThe talks also addressed issues related to the legal framework for cooperation and its further expansion.
\nThe importance of establishing parliamentary friendship groups and strengthening interparliamentary ties, as well as active interaction within international organizations, particularly the United Nations, was noted.
\nThe parties reaffirmed that the friendly and cooperative relations between Turkmenistan and Iraq are based on the principles of mutual respect, trust, and equality.

\nDuring the visit of the Turkmen delegation to the Republic of Iraq, Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmed Gurbanov met with the President of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, Abdul Razzaq Al-Zuhairi.
\nDuring the meeting, the development of trade and economic relations was discussed, and the promising prospects for their expansion were noted.
