Turkmenistan is accelerating the digitalization of all spheres of government. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov identified this process as a strategic priority in the “Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy for 2026\u20132028.”
\nThe reform is based on the System of Interdepartmental Electronic Interaction (SIEI). It simplifies access to government services, reduces bureaucracy, and makes services more transparent.
\nThe Turkmenaragatnashyk Agency, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, implemented the X-Road platform. It ensures secure data exchange between agencies and protects citizens’ personal information.
\nThe e-government supports the development of the “smart city” concept and the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Key ministries are connected to a single platform, and in the future, the system will cover all government agencies.
\nCitizens will be able to obtain certificates, documents, and permits in just a few clicks. The system accelerates processes and changes the approach to public administration, making it a people-centered service.
\nTurkmenistan is also investing in specialist training. Employees of the Communications Agency and relevant agencies are trained in Cisco and Linux standards and master the Java and Python programming languages.
