\nHe noted that a number of citizens had raised the issue of the status of the state language in the Basic Law.
\n“However, it is important to emphasize that the draft of the new Constitution clearly and unambiguously enshrines Kazakh as the state language,” Shaimardanov said.
\nAs a reminder, the Constitutional Reform Commission published the draft of the new Constitution of Kazakhstan on January 31. The first draft of the new Basic Law consists of a Preamble, 11 sections, and 95 articles. The amendments affect 84% of the text of the Constitution.
\nKey areas of the reforms include the transition to a unicameral parliament \u2013 the Kurultai, the establishment of the position of vice president, and the creation of the Khalyk Kenesi \u2013 the People’s Council.
