Martin Sajdik, a representative of the Austrian Institute for European Diplomacy and Security Policy, paid a working visit to Ashgabat.
\nOn his first day, the guest visited the State Museum of the State Cultural Center, the National Carpet Museum, the K\u00f6ne Nusa\u00fd Historical and Cultural Center, and the Akhal-Teke Equestrian Center. Sajdik focused on meetings with faculty and students of the university.
\nThe lecture and subsequent question-and-answer session were held in English. The students inquired about the practicalities of diplomacy, the complexities of the profession, and the intricacies of a diplomat’s work.
\nFollowing this, the diplomat met with staff of the Institute’s Scientific Center for Strategic Studies, where he discussed current international policy issues. Sajdik noted that objectivity, impartiality, empathy, and patience are particularly important for successful diplomatic work.
