An international fine art exhibition, honoring the 2025 International Year of Peace and Trust, opened at Turkmenistan’s State Museum of Fine Arts. The event featured works from foreign masters and attracted artists, students, and international representatives.
Video messages from international artists celebrated the exhibition’s launch. The initial display showcased modern Turkmenistan through paintings from the Academy of Arts’ Golden Fund, including works by Shukur Roziyev and Hanmyrat Hanov.
Subsequent sections highlighted Turkmen artists’ impressions from abroad, featuring pieces by Ovezmuhammet Mametnurov, Charymyrat Yazmyradov, and Ishan Ishankuliev.
The exhibition’s core focused on late 18th to early 19th-century European art, including period furniture, porcelain, and sculptures. Actors in period costumes, including one portraying Pushkin, enhanced the historical ambiance.
The second floor displayed paintings from various European schools, such as works by Kolomande Brar, Fritz Grebe, Antonio Salvetti, Johann Glauber, and Josef Abel, alongside sculptures like Luigi Guglielmi’s “Venus and Cupid” and Z.Kh. Purogbu’s “Albanian on Horseback.”
The exhibition expanded the museum’s existing Western European art collection, reinforcing its role as a guardian of cultural treasures.
