During the 20th Central Asia-European Union Ministerial Meeting, on 27th March, a meeting was held between Rashid Meredov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and Kaja Kallas, the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission.
They exchanged views on the current state and priority areas for the development of constructive cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU.
They emphasized that long-term relations are consistently strengthening, both bilaterally and multilaterally, particularly within the Central Asia-European Union format.
Regarding economic relations, they noted the effective work of the Joint Commission, which discusses a wide range of cooperation issues in the fields of economy, culture, education, and climate change.
The parties discussed cooperation in the fields of energy, transport and connectivity, and environmental protection, particularly initiatives to reduce methane emissions and the development of renewable energy sources.
