Magtymguly Turkmen State University and its UNESCO Chair, “Cultural Heritage: From Past to Future” will host an International Scientific and Practical Online Conference titled “The Role of Peace and Trust in the Study and Preservation of Cultural Heritage.” The conference will take place on April 17-18 and is dedicated to the International Day for Monuments and Sites (World Heritage Day) and the International Year of Peace and Trust. It also coincides with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.

The university invites professors, teachers, scientists, researchers, postgraduates, and doctoral students from higher educational institutions and research organizations, as well as representatives of UNESCO Chairs and Clubs, and UNESCO Associated Schools in Turkmenistan and abroad, to participate in the forum.

The conference aims to discuss new scientific directions in the study of cultural heritage and its significance and role in maintaining peace and trust among nations.

The working languages of the event are Turkmen, Russian, and English.

The International Scientific and Practical Conference will include a plenary session and four sections on the following topics:

  1. Section: The Policy of Peace and Trust of Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan as a Foundation for Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation;
  2. Section: Turkmenistan – UNESCO: Activities for the Preservation of National and World Cultural Heritage;

III. Section: Research Directions in the Study of Cultural Heritage;

  1. Section: Tangible and Intangible Culture of the Turkmen People and the Peoples of the World: New Research and Directions.

Following the conference, an electronic collection of abstracts will be published.
