On May 16, an international conference entitled “Connection of Times and Civilizations” dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan was held in Moscow.
The forum, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation in the building of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, brought together prominent representatives of the scientific community, in particular, employees of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology named after N.N.Miklouho-Maclay and other scientific centers, experts, orientalists, archaeologists and ethnographers.
The participants of the international conference emphasized that 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the UN recognition of Turkmenistan’s permanent Neutrality. The history of permanent Neutrality, based on the high humanistic traditions of the Turkmen people, is a consistent process of strengthening and expanding cooperation with the UN to promote universal values, security and sustainable development in the world.
At the same time, the importance of studying and popularizing the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Turkmen people, in particular, the unique archaeological complexes of Gonur-Depe and Nisa, was noted.
The speakers emphasized that various archaeological studies are being conducted on the territory of Turkmenistan, unique artifacts are being studied and restored, testifying to the thousand-year history of the Turkmen people, their enormous contribution to the development of human civilization, their involvement in the creation and successful development of a number of state entities in Central and South Asia, the Near and Middle East.
