Unforgettable works by the world-famous Italian composer Ennio Morricone were presented to the Ashgabat’s classical music lovers at the Magtymguly National Musical Drama Theater of Turkmenistan. At the musical evening, the Italian maestro and musician Nello Salza performed with his Turkmen colleagues, the State Symphony Orchestra under the direction of the talented conductor Resul Gylyjov, and opera singer Bahar Durdiyeva. This concert complemented the cultural and humanitarian events regularly held during the International Year of Peace and Trust. The cultural event organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Italy with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
The respect that Turkmen people have for art, are also highly appreciated by the Italian trumpeter Nello Salza. As he mentionad:
— “Holding a concert program in Turkmenistan in memory of the classic Italian composer Ennio Morrico, winner of such prestigious awards as the Grammy Music Awards and the Oscar, which will be held in various European countries, created unforgettable moments for me. The audience greeted our performances, which included a selection of Ennio Morricono’s compositions for more than 500 films, with thunderous applause. The creativity of the composer and music writer, from the Western genre to the Drama genre, has always inspired me to create new works. Of these, the music from the films “The Mission” (1986), “Italian for Whoever” (Chi Mai) (1971), and “Once upon a time in the West” (1968), which he still performs on stage today, is especially noteworthy. I would like to express my gratitude to the Italian Embassy and the Turkmen side for organizing this concert”.
The distinguished guest has been performing on prestigious stages around the world for more than 40 years and has recorded music for more than 400 films. Maestro Salza is also a multiple winner of the Grammy and other prestigious world awards.
