On April 29 and 30, the “Tedtalk” and “Spelling Bee – Language beyond the Borders” competitions were held among students of higher educational institutions of our country, organized by the International University for the Humanities and Development.
Tedtalk – is the art of expressing one’s thoughts in effective, understandable, grammatically correct and beautiful words. It is a skill aimed at developing speech culture, using the right tone and persuading the audience, and includes the content and mastery of speeches. This competition not only demonstrated their oratory skills, but also provided a great opportunity for young people to demonstrate and develop such important skills as creative thinking, free expression of their thoughts in foreign languages, and public speaking. In accordance with the regulations of the competition, held on April 29, participants presented their speeches in English on topics determined by drawing lots. Teachers of the higher educational institution evaluated the speeches in the competition. The results of the competition were a clear demonstration of the highly organized and well-organized nature of the competition.
The first place in the competition was won by Leyli Durdiyeva, a 2nd year student of the Dovletmammet Azady Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, the second place by Aisha Atageldiyeva, a 2nd year student of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, and Yelizaveta Rakhmanova, a 5th year student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports, and the third place by Malika Rozmetova, a 4th year student of the Myrat Garryev Turkmen State Medical University, Dovlet Atayev, a 4th year student of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics, and Mahmut Gurbanov, a student of the Yagshygeldy Kakayev International Oil and Gas University.
On April 30, in our higher education institution, on the year of “Independent, neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses”, a spelling bee competition was held among students of our country’s higher education institutions called “Spelling Bee-Language Beyond the Borders”. 45 students from 15 higher education institutions of our country participated in the competition. The competition was held in the form of an individual competition, in which the terms used in the slogan of our remarkable year were spelled out in English. The competition was held in two stages – qualifying and final stages, and the level of complexity of the words increased in each stage.
According to the results, the first place in the competition was won by Samir Babajanov, a 4th year student of the Myrat Garryev Turkmen State Medical University, the second places were won by Byashim Kakayev, a 4th year student of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics, and Aylar Azamatova, a 2nd year student of the Myrat Garryev Turkmen State Medical University. As well as the third place was won by Aysha Atageldiyeva and Arslangurt Muhammetyazov, 2nd year students of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, as well as Didar Gurbandurdyev, a 4th year student of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics.
The International University of Humanities and Development awarded the winners commemorative gifts and diplomas in a solemn atmosphere.
