The Turkmenistan Junior Weightlifting Team has announced its roster for the World Junior Championships, which will be held in Ismailia, Egypt, from May 2 to 8. The tournament is being held under the auspices of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), according to the country’s International Weightlifting Information Center.
Nine athletes – five women and four men, will represent Turkmenistan.
Two athletes, Ogulshat Amanova and Shabnam Kerimbayeva, have been declared for the women’s team in the 53 kg category. The team also includes Medina Amanova (63 kg), Asal Kerimbayeva (77 kg), and Anamjan Rustamova (86 kg).
Among the men, Didarbek Jumabayev (79 kg), Islam Akmyradov (94 kg), and Suleiman Jafarov (110 kg) will compete for medals. Saparbay Atajanov will complete the Turkmen delegation’s performance in the super heavyweight category – over 110 kg.
