On April 29, a bicycle ride brought together diplomats, students, and youth from Turkmenistan and China. The event, timed to coincide with National Health Month, traditionally celebrated in Turkmenistan, was part of the country’s policy of developing mass sports and promoting an active lifestyle.
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in China initiated the initiative with the support of Chinese partners, including the Flying Pigeon cycling association and cultural organizations working to strengthen humanitarian ties between the two countries.
The event was held under a slogan uniting the ideas of friendship, environmental responsibility, and youthful energy. The start and finish of the route were organized at the National Pavilion of Turkmenistan, and the route itself ran through the busy streets of the Dongjimen district, symbolizing the openness and dynamism of bilateral cooperation.
Participants emphasized that such initiatives go beyond sports, becoming an important tool of “soft power.” The bike ride not only demonstrated the high level of partnership between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China but also confirmed the importance of environmental diplomacy in the modern world.
The organizers expressed confidence that such events will contribute to the further strengthening of cultural ties, the development of youth interaction, and the formation of sustainable traditions of sports exchange between the two countries.
