the final stage of the “Student of the Year” State Academic Contest among students of higher educational institutions was held in Ashgabat on June 15–16, 2026. Among the outstanding youths featured this year, Daniyar Emirkulyyev, a 4th-year student at the Faculty of International Economics and Management of the International University for the Humanities and Development, demonstrated the highest result and was awarded the grand prize of the contest – the prestigious and honorable title of “Student of the Year”.
The primary objectives of the contest are to continuously support the implementation of the educational reforms initiated by the President of Turkmenistan; to identify and encourage capable, goal-oriented students who are genuinely dedicated to their courageous people, Motherland, and the President of Turkmenistan; to showcase their skills in operating cutting-edge technological equipment; to test their proficiency in the state and foreign languages; and to demonstrate their ability to apply acquired knowledge in practice. Furthermore, the contest is designed to highlight the high spirit of Turkmenistan’s younger generation, their pride in the Fatherland, and their boundless love for the glorious history of our ancestors.
By tradition, the participants were evaluated based on a structured point system recognizing achievements in scientific-creative and interdisciplinary competitions, international subject Olympiads, participation in cultural and public events, victories in sports competitions, and contributions to mass media outlets. The student who secured the highest number of points within their respective higher educational institution earned the right to compete in the final stage.
During the final round, students representing the country’s leading higher educational institutions answered comprehensive test questions covering socio-political disciplines, modern computer technologies, and the English language.
The triumph of the International University for the Humanities and Development student in the prestigious “Student of the Year” contest fills all of us with a profound sense of pride! We firmly believe that this victory will serve as a powerful catalyst for our student youth to reach even greater scientific and creative heights in the future, thereby further strengthening the prestige of our nation on the international stage.
