The United Arab Emirates government has passed a law banning children under the age of 15 from creating accounts and using social networks, the state news agency WAM reported.
According to the law, children in the UAE will no longer be able to publish and comment on content online, or participate in open groups. Social networks are required to identify violators and immediately close accounts.
Children aged 15 to 16 are allowed to use social networks, provided that they strengthen the security measures for their accounts.
