Representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan are participating in a training seminar entitled «Enhancing the Role of Legislative Institutions and Strengthening the China-Central Asia Cooperation» organized for the deputies of the Central Asian countries by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China in Beijing from June 22 to 28, 2026.
The seminar aims to strengthen inter-parliamentary relations between the countries of Central Asia and the People’s Republic of China, exchange mutual experience in the legislative sphere, discuss important issues of inter-regional cooperation, and, taking into account current trends in the development of the global economy, coordinate development strategies and advance mutually beneficial and inclusive economic cooperation.
During the seminar, the representative of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan noted in his speech the strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China has been continuously developing based on mutual respect, trust and equality, and enriched with new sense and content, thanks to the efforts of the Heads of the two States. In the speech, has noted that regularly organized events, meetings, forums, and training seminars at the regional level serve as an important platform for discussing specific areas of mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthening inter-parliamentary relations, and developing new approaches to developing cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and China.
At the training seminar, participants with paying special attention to the growing role of parliamentary diplomacy in ensuring peace, stability, and effective cooperation in the region, has noted the highly organized training seminar has created wide opportunities for exchanging experience in legislative and parliamentary work between countries, strengthening relations between young and women parliamentarians.
