On June 30, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko, who is completing his diplomatic mission in the country.
During the meeting, current issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations, as well as opportunities for developing future constructive cooperation in the framework of implementing the common goals of sustainable development, were discussed.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko noted the great contribution of Turkmenistan to strengthening partnership relations within the UN system, as well as to the progress of joint programs and projects implemented to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. He wished him success in his future activities and expressed confidence that his further work would serve the development of international cooperation.
It was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of multifaceted cooperation with the UN, and that the UN is considered a key international partner in issues of peace, security and sustainable development.
At the end of the meeting, Dmitry Shlapachenko expressed gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for the support and assistance provided during his term of office.
