A key international meeting was held at the International University for the Humanities and Development. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Turkmenistan, Martin Brook, paid a working visit to the university, during which he held a productive meeting with the rector and the leadership of the higher education institution.
The main objective of the meeting was to further expand scientific and educational cooperation between the universities of the two countries, share modern educational practices, and discuss new opportunities for implementing promising joint projects.
During the talks, the parties emphasized the importance of establishing direct connections between the universities of both nations and intensifying academic exchange programs. Special attention was paid to the exchange of experience with Italian higher education institutions in fields such as the humanities, international relations, diplomacy, and the world economy.
As is well known, political, diplomatic, and cultural relations between Turkmenistan and Italy are grounded in a centuries-old history and mutual trust. The spheres of culture and science serve as the most reliable bridge for bringing peoples closer together. Within the framework of the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on supporting interest in studying Italian culture, history, and language at the university, as well as enriching academic curricula.
