On July 30, 2026, a meeting was held between the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D.Gulmanova and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Turkmenistan Beata Peksa.
At the meeting, it was noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to relations with world states and authoritative international organizations, including the European Union. The cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres was highly appreciated. It was noted that the established cooperation in such areas as sustainable development, energy, ecology, science and education, the creation of transport corridors and strengthening trade and economic relations are fruitful. The regional and global significance of the multilateral friendly relations of the «Central Asia — European Union» in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals was emphasized. It was noted that the «Turkmenistan – European Union» inter-parliamentary dialogue serves as an important tool for discussing issues of mutual interest and strengthening cooperation.
The Ambassador expressed her high appreciation for cooperation of Turkmenistan with other countries and international organizations, based on policy of Neutrality and the generally recognized norms of international law and activities to promote multilateral cooperation in the areas of security and the rule of law, human rights, including gender equality, environmental protection, climate change, digital systems, and water resources.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan D.Gulmanova, expressed her gratitude to Ambassador Beata Peksa for her significant contribution to strengthening the bridge of friendship between Turkmenistan and the European Union and strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation during her work in a diplomatic position in our country and wished success in her future endeavors.
