Applications are now officially open for the “Russian Verb” (“Русский ГлаголЪ”) International Literary Competition. This initiative is designed for authors residing outside the Russian Federation who continue to write, think, and create in the Russian language.
The primary objective of the competition is the preservation, development, and global promotion of Russian language, literature, and cultural heritage abroad.
The competition welcomes submissions from: Citizens of the Russian Federation residing permanently abroad; Foreign citizens who write and create literary works in Russian; Students, researchers, journalists, and cultural figures engaged with Russian literature, translation, and cross-cultural dialogue.
Participants may submit creative works across several categories: Prose, Poetry, Children’s Literature, Drama / Playwriting.
To submit an entry, the candidate must provide a complete application package:
- Completed Application Form
- Signed Personal Data Processing Consent
- Competition Entry (The Literary Work)
- Certificate/Confirmation from the Publisher (mandatory for previously published works)
- Certificate/Confirmation from the Theater (if applicable for staged theatrical plays)
Applications are accepted from July 10 to September 10, 2026 . The final round and official award presentation will take place on November 25–26, 2026 , in Moscow.
Winning and shortlisted works will receive recognition from the international literary community and will be published in the Russian Field (“Русское поле”) literary journal.
