The champion of the Turkmenistan, the team “Arkadag”, achieved a great success in the qualifying round of the AFC Champions League 2. The “Arkadag” team having met with the Indian team “Goa” in the city of “Arkadag”, and won 3-0. The first half of the tense match was scoreless. However, in the second half, the Turkmen football players, who showed more determination, managed to score 3 goals without a reply. Meylis Diniyev scored the goals in the 61st minute, Rahman Myratberdiev in the 65th minute and Arzuvguly Sapargulyyev in the 75th minute. Thus, the team “Arkadag” will perform in the group stage of the AFC Champions League 2 for the second time in a row.
In the group stage, there will be 16 teams in each of the East and West regions, divided into 4 groups of four for each region. The group stage draw will take place on 18 August.
