These days, the international festival of youth orchestras called “Young Euro Classic” is being held in Berlin, the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany. Talented musicians from more than 20 countries of the world are taking part in the event organized in the concert hall “Konzerthaus”. The Youth Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan represented the country, which is being held from July 30 to August 16. The creative tour of our young musicians was organized from August 8 to 10 of this year. This international art festival for young performers is being held for the 27th time this year.
Participation in the festival, founded in 2000, opens up new horizons in the fate of every young artist. This is confirmed by its motto “The future of youth begins here.” The goal of the event is to unite talented young musicians from different countries on one stage, develop classical musical art, expand cultural exchanges, and strengthen creative ties. The most famous youth orchestras from different countries perform on the ancient stage, and new works by composers are presented to art lovers for the first time. Another of its main features is that it provides a wonderful opportunity for young musicians to meet with artists from different nations, exchange ideas and experiences, and establish cooperation. The festival is held by a panel of experts, who select the world’s best youth orchestras from among the participants.
The Youth Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan performed at the International Music Festival on August 9. The festival participants warmly welcomed the songs of friendship that young musicians from Turkmenistan sang in the hearts of Europe. The composition of the creative team includes students of the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory, teachers of the Danatar Ovezov Turkmen State Specialized Music School, the Specialized Music Boarding School, regional art schools of the country, and talented musicians of the State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Resul Gylyjov. In order to exchange experience within the framework of the program to encourage young German musicians, the talented musician Jacob Seely performed as part of the Turkmen orchestra.
The concert was attended by about 1,300 spectators, including representatives of foreign embassies in Berlin, famous musicians, and Turkmens living in various parts of Germany. The program included Chary Nurymov’s inspiring piano concert, Veli Muhadov’s symphonic poem “My Homeland”, Nury Halmammedov’s symphonic compositions “Turkmenistan” and unforgettable music from the films “Aygytly Pasha”, “Kechpelek”, as well as masterpieces of world musical art. In accordance with the terms of the festival, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan presented to European audiences for the first time on the Berlin stage “Songs from Turkmenistan” by the young American composer Aidan Gold, which expresses the natural beauty of our Motherland in a modern musical language, and the deeply philosophical works of the French composer Pierre Tillois.
The Mexican composer Arturo Marquez concluded the concert with a lively work “Danzon No. 2”. The organizers of the festival, as well as art lovers who attended the concert, highly appreciated the unique world of Turkmen music, the mastery of the youth orchestra of Turkmenistan and its conductor Resul Gylyjov in their performance. The results of the international music forum will be summed up on August 16. The participation of the creative team of our country’s youth in it demonstrates the further strengthening of the position of Turkmen musical art in the international cultural space.
