On August 30, a delegation from Turkmenistan participated in the 35th meeting of the Council of Heads of CIS State News Agencies, held in Cholpon-Ata, according to the country’s International Information Center.

The central theme of the meeting was effective media support and promotion of tourism opportunities in the Commonwealth countries.

The Turkmen side presented the meeting participants with the country’s potential in the areas of spa and resort tourism, ecological tourism, ethnographic tourism, and sports tourism. It was noted that the systematic implementation of industry programs established by the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and consistently continued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, is supported by active information support, thematic television projects, and expanded advertising campaigns in the media.

During the meeting, the heads of news agencies discussed coverage of the 6th World Nomad Games featuring Turkmen athletes, preparations for the 35th anniversary of the CIS, and the work of the updated website of the Association of National News Agencies (ANIA).

Participants of the meeting were also given an introductory program to Kyrgyzstan’s tourism and sports infrastructure.
