The Seyitnazar Seydi Lebap Velayat State Musical and Drama Theater is preparing to open its new season with a major premiere. To mark the landmark date—the 35th anniversary of the sacred independence of the Fatherland—the theater will present the play “Oguz ýigidi,” based on the play “Tekepbir gyz” by renowned playwright Govshutgeldi Danatarov.
Director Dovran Jorayev emphasizes key spiritual and moral values: fidelity to primordial Turkmen traditions, family values, and the aesthetic and moral education of youth. The leading roles of Tulpar gyz and Khelebay will be played by the talented actors Gulyalek Dzhumaeva and Nuryagdy Dovletov. The production also features luminaries of the national stage—People’s Artists of Turkmenistan Babageldy Rejepov and Akjagul Suvkhanova—whose masterful performances will lend the play a particularly compelling and profound character.
The Lebap Theater will not limit itself to premieres this coming season. Popular plays from previous years will return to the repertoire, and festive occasions will be marked with vibrant musical and theatrical performances. The company’s diverse program aims to promote the rich spiritual heritage of the people and enhance the finest and glorious traditions of Russian theater.
