The first automobile bridge between Russia and Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has opened to traffic. The bridge spans the Tumannaya River in Primorsky Krai and connects the Russian village of Khasan with the North Korean city of Tumen.
The bridge is 1 km long, with a total length of 4.7 km including access roads. The new crossing is designed to accommodate 300 vehicles and over 2,000 people per day. Construction of the bridge began in the spring of 2025, based on agreements signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Pyongyang in 2024.
