The Turkmenistan youth and junior boxing teams triumphed at the prestigious Boxam International Tournament 2026, held in La Nucia, Spain, as reported by the turkmenistan.gov.tm.
The large-scale competition brought together 246 athletes from 21 countries. Turkmenistan was represented in Spain by 17 young athletes competing in the U15, U17, and U19 age categories. Following intense competition, our compatriots won 10 medals: three gold, three silver, and four bronze.
The tournament’s winners and gold medalists were Arslan Rejepov, a 9th-grade student from Dashoguz Secondary School No. 6 (U15, up to 44 kg), Yunus Masharipov, a 10th-grade student from Dashoguz Secondary School No. 2 (U17, up to 66 kg), and Muhammadsharif Masharipov, an 11th-grade student from Ashgabat Secondary School No. 39 (U17, up to 75 kg). Further recognition of the Turkmen boxing school’s excellence was the presentation of a special prize to Yunus Masharipov as the tournament’s best boxer in the U17 category.
Rustam Bakhramov (U15, up to 46 kg) from Turkmenabat, as well as Atabek Khodjayev (U17, up to 52 kg) and Samir Saburov (U17, up to 80 kg) from Lebap Velayat, won silver medals for the national team. Ashgabat schoolchildren Ismail Mollaev (U17, up to 46 kg) and Ezbermuhammet Myratdurdyev (U17, up to 63 kg) took bronze, as did first-year students from local universities Yazgeldi Amanmedov from the Institute of Physical Education and Sports (U19, up to 60 kg) and Ismail Orazmyradov from the Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering (U19, up to 80 kg).
