education.gov.tm summarized the results of the “Teacher of the Year” State Competition among professors and teaching staff at Turkmenistan’s higher education institutions. The competition aimed to identify teachers with advanced professional experience in higher education, who demonstrate professional excellence, engage in scientific and pedagogical activity, and make a significant contribution to education.
The competition was aimed at implementing the reforms carried out by the President of Turkmenistan in the field of education, fulfilling the tasks set for the development of higher professional education, and increasing the role of professors and teachers of the country in the international educational environment.
The main criteria for determining the winners were the indicators accumulated within the rating assessment system of higher education institutions of Turkmenistan, as well as the results automatically calculated on the digital platform.
The Grand Prize of the competition was awarded to Nurmuhammet Gurbanmammedov, Head of the Department of Mathematical Analysis at Magtymguly Turkmen State University, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Senior Lecturer, who scored 505.52 points. He was awarded the title of “Teacher of the Year”.
The first places were awarded to Pirmyrat Gurbanov, Head of Industrial Practice Training at the Education Department of the International University for the Humanities and Development, Senior Lecturer (226.75 points); Maksat Bugrayev, Lecturer at the Department of Theory and Practice of the Russian Language at the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages (160.82 points); and Musa Yazymov, Lecturer at the Department of Modern Computer Technologies at the International University for the Humanities and Development (155.28 points).
The following teachers took second places:
Shiraly Bayekov — Acting Head of the Department of Mathematics and Methods of Teaching Mathematics at the Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute, Senior Lecturer (149.05 points);
Allamurat Amanmammedov — Lecturer at the Department of Theoretical and Experimental Physics of Magtymguly Turkmen State University (143.72 points);
Vepa Sabyrov — Lecturer at the Department of Physics and Electrical Engineering of the Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan (141.38 points);
Maksat Churiyev — Acting Head of the Department of Cybersecurity at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Senior Lecturer (139.92 points);
Yolly Myradow — Acting Head of the Department of Road Construction at the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Senior Lecturer (128.98 points), and others.

Bibihajar Kerimova — Lecturer at the Department of Economics of the Energy Sector of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan (108.33 points);
Ahmet Penjiyev — Associate Professor at the Department of Production Automation of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Doctor of Technical Sciences (99.65 points);
Muhammetnur Atayev — Lecturer at the Department of Information Technologies of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan (96.18 points);
Ogulnabat Saryyeva — Acting Head of the Department of General Chemistry at the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Senior Lecturer (90.26 points);
Akmyrat Yagmyrow — Lecturer at the Department of Higher Mathematics of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan (87.93 points);
Aybolek Perdayeva — Lecturer at the Department of Medical Ecology and Hygiene of the Murat Garryyev State Medical University of Turkmenistan (87.36 points);

The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan will award the winners of the competition, professors, and teachers who received prize-winning places diplomas of the relevant categories.
The “Teacher of the Year” State Competition is one of the important events aimed at developing the professional skills of teachers, scientific research, and modern teaching methods in the higher education system.
