A Turkmen delegation participated in a meeting of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Secretariat’s Tourism Working Group, which was held in Tashkent from September 9 to 11, as reported by the medeniyet.gov.tm.

The event was also attended by representatives of the public and private tourism sectors of the countries participating in the initiative: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The main topic of the meeting was the regional tourism development project for 2026-2030. It was noted that Turkmenistan has significant potential for tourism development.

During the meeting, participants learned about the experience of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand and the UN Academy of Tourism. Participants were given a tour of Samarkand’s tourist attractions.
