The American Center in Ashgabat has announced the launch of four new interactive educational programs set to begin in October. Designed to help youth build practical skills and explore American culture, the clubs cover topics ranging from scientific research and literature to creative writing and digital design.
Upcoming October Programs:
- STEM Research Club (Oct 5–28, between 16:00 to 17:00 afternoon)
A four-week intensive program where participants aged 14–18 develop project ideas and complete a formal research proposal under the guidance of a Utah State University Summer Research Intern.
- Book Club — Charlotte’s Web (Oct 1 & Oct 13, between 16:00 to 17:00 afternoon)
An interactive reading and discussion group for participants aged 13 and older to practice English through classic American literature, led by American Center volunteers.
- American Voices Writing Club (Oct 16, 26, & 30, from 16:00 to 17:00 afternoon)
Led by Fulbright Specialist Daniel S. Weiss, this creative writing club helps participants aged 13+ refine language skills while exploring US history and iconic authors. Held in the English Language Classroom.
- UI/UX Design Club (Oct 20, 27, & 29, between 16:00 to 17:00 afternoon)
A hands-on workshop led by Fulbright Specialist Daniel S. Weiss where participants aged 13+ learn mobile app design fundamentals—from ideation to prototyping—inspired by American history.
Eligibility & Application:
All programs require an Intermediate level of English or higher.
