On May 15, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania, in cooperation with the Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiești, held an international conference titled “30 years of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality – contribution to peace and trust.” The event was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.
The conference was attended by diplomats, scholars, and students to discuss the role of neutrality in promoting peace and sustainable development. Welcoming remarks were delivered by the Rector of the University, Professor Alin Diniță, and the State Secretary of the Romanian Ministry of Energy, Pavel Casian Nițulescu, who emphasized the importance of energy cooperation.
The keynote speech was delivered by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Romania Annamammet Annayev. He highlighted Turkmenistan’s foreign policy priorities and underlined the importance of permanent neutrality as the foundation of peaceful diplomacy and a model of responsible international behavior.
During the conference, special attention was given to economic aspects, including the “Caspian Sea – Black Sea” transport corridor project.
The event ended with a cultural program that included a presentation by Turkologist Margareta Aslan on the legacy of Magtymguly Fragi, a videopresentation and a reception with traditional dishes of Turkmen cuisine.
