Schoolchildren from Turkmenistan will take part in the Junior Mental Calculation World Championship, which will be held from October 4 to 6 in Bielefeld, Germany. According to the educational center “Kämil bilim” that prepared the participants, 8 teenagers will represent the country.
This international competition has been held since 2008, gathering over 100 participants from nearly 20 countries annually. Contestants compete in three age groups.
The young Turkmen participants will demonstrate their skills in mental calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as in more complex disciplines such as factorization and working with fractions. According to the rules, participants must solve all tasks mentally within 2 hours.

The team representing Turkmenistan was formed in April this year based on a special competition. At the time, the teenagers successfully answered questions from a 23-page test, identical to the World Championship format, within 2 hours using only mental calculation, thereby earning the right to compete.
