On March 27, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov hosted Bakhtiyor Saidov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, who was in Turkmenistan for the 20th Central Asia-European Union Foreign Ministers Meeting.
Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude for the meeting and the opportunity to discuss bilateral cooperation. He conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
President Berdimuhamedov welcomed the Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister and reciprocated the well wishes to the President of Uzbekistan, expressing optimism about the visit’s positive outcomes. He conveyed his best wishes for the upcoming meetings, and expressed confidence that the results from the meetings would strengthen relations bilaterally and multilaterally.
– Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening bilateral relations with the Republic of Uzbekistan, based on strong ties of good-neighborliness that are time tested, emphasized President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
He highlighted the mutual trust and openness that characterize the interstate dialogue as crucial for fostering a productive partnership.
Both nations collaborate effectively within the United Nations and other international and regional organizations, demonstrated by their mutual support for each other’s initiatives.
The leaders emphasized the significance of the upcoming inaugural Central Asia-European Union Summit in Samarkand for broader regional cooperation.
They also discussed expanding their established partnership in key areas of mutual interest.
The economic relationship, particularly in trade, is a vital aspect of their long-term cooperation. Bilateral trade is growing, and collaboration in energy, transportation, logistics, and agriculture is expanding.
President of Turkmenistan and Minister Bahtiyor Saidov acknowledged the successful development of cultural, scientific, and educational exchanges, which strengthen the bonds between their peoples and reinforce their old friendship.
The President Serdar Berdimuhamedov affirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to further strengthening its strategic partnership with Uzbekistan for the benefit of both nations.
