Cooperation with the PETRONAS University of Technology in Malaysia is being developed

Effective cooperation in the field of science and education has been continuing for several years between the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd and the PETRONAS University of Technology, as reported by the education.gov.tm. In order to develop and expand international cooperation, a new Memorandum of Understanding was recently signed between the partner company and the two higher educational institutions, according to which the term of mutual cooperation was extended for another five years.
At the PETRONAS University of Technology, students and young lecturers from our university undertake annual summer industrial training, consistently improving their professional skills. The faculty of the PETRONAS University of Technology organizes joint training sessions on various topics for students and young lecturers of our university. From May 11 to 14, a professor from the University of Technology conducted an online session for students and young lecturers of the Faculty of Geology on the topic “Black Gold.” The session provided interesting insights into modern innovative technologies and new methods currently in use. Participants of the sessions are awarded special certificates from the PETRONAS University of Technology. Within the framework of the signed Memorandum of Cooperation, several professors from the University of Technology are scheduled to conduct lectures in 2026, both online and through visits to our university. The sessions will focus on the oil and gas industry, the implementation of artificial intelligence, chemistry, and processing. Students and young lecturers will be taught modern innovative technologies used in these fields, as well as methods of their implementation.
