Delegates of the International Conference and Exhibition “Development of the Construction, Industrial, Chemical and Energy Sectors of Turkmenistan — CIET 2026” visited ancient Nisa, the Magtymguly Pyragy Cultural and Park Complex, and the Halk Hakydasy Memorial Complex. The visits introduced participants to the country’s historical and cultural heritage.

Among the destinations was ancient Nisa, an outstanding archaeological site at the foot of the Kopetdag Mountains associated with the history of the Parthian Empire. Inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Parthian Fortresses of Nisa form an important part of Turkmenistan’s cultural heritage.

Delegates also visited the Magtymguly Pyragy Cultural and Park Complex in southern Ashgabat. Opened in 2024 as part of celebrations marking the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker, the complex features a monument to Magtymguly alongside sculptures of prominent international writers and poets.

The itinerary also included the Halk Hakydasy Memorial Complex, which honours national heroes who lost their lives in battle and the victims of the 1948 Ashgabat earthquake. The complex holds a special place in preserving the historical memory of the Turkmen people.
The visits complemented delegates’ participation in CIET 2026 with an introduction to Turkmenistan’s ancient history, literary heritage and places of remembrance.
