As we reported before, 1-2 November, Ashgabat successfully hosted Korean Culture Week 2026, commemorating the successful outcome of the inaugural “Republic of Korea – Central Asia” Summit. Organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the highly anticipated two-day event brought together high-tech media performances and interactive cultural showcases, drawing large crowds of enthusiastic participants across the city.

The celebrations kicked off on November 1 at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater. Attendees were treated to a dazzling blend of traditional Korean art and modern technology presented by the world-renowned performance group “Saengdonggam Crew” (SDG Crew).

The high-energy media performance brought the stage to life through synchronized light, rhythm, and innovative dance choreography. Spectators filled the theater to capacity to experience the fusion of Republic of Korean creative technology and performing arts.

The festivities continued on November 2 as the celebration moved to the ground floor of the Arkach Shopping Center. The second day featured an immersive fair exploring Korean traditions, modern city life, and educational pathways:

Visitors explored interactive booths dedicated to Korean cities, discovering their unique heritage and tourism. And also representatives from the King Sejong Institute shared key informations regarding Korean language learning and academic exchange opportunities. Attendees actively engaged in traditional Korean games such as Tuho (arrow throwing), Jegichagi (shuttlecock kicking), and Ttakji-chigi (tile flipping). Participants who collected stamps from all five city booths received a complimentary set of traditional Korean sweets.

The event concluded with overwhelming attendance, offering Ashgabat residents an unforgettable dive into the rich heritage and contemporary culture of Republic of Korea.
