On March 14, 2025, a briefing was held in Singapore dedicated to the declaration of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
The event was attended by heads and staff members of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Transport, Trade and Industry of the Republic of Singapore, the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise, heads of diplomatic missions of Central Asian states accredited in Singapore, scientists, and media representatives.
During the event, B. Durdyyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Singapore (with residence in Seoul), spoke about the significant political, diplomatic, economic, and cultural events that will be held in Turkmenistan throughout the year.
In this context, participants focused their attention on the high-level events planned for 2025 to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
The briefing included information on major programs and projects implemented in the country through the efforts of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The Concept of Activities and Priorities of Turkmenistan for the current year was outlined.
A presentation of the new book by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, “Magtymguly – the Sage of the World,” and the work by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, “Hakyda göwheri,” was also conducted.
During the event, an overview of the current bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Singapore was provided, and a number of proposals were made regarding preparations for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which will be commemorated next year.
As part of the working visit to the Republic of Singapore, Ambassador B. Durdyyev met with high-ranking officials from the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Transport, Trade and Industry.
During the talks, a mutual exchange of views took place on the agenda of Turkmen-Singaporean relations, particularly in areas such as organizing high-level visits, holding political consultations, developing inter-parliamentary ties and cooperation within international organizations, expanding trade and economic contacts, and intensifying cultural exchanges.
To mark the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, under the leadership of the President and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan held a conference on March 17, 2025, titled “The Role of Women in Strengthening Global Peace and Security.”
