More than 250 young football players took part in the children’s football festival, which took place today in Mary as part of the AFC Mass Football Day.
The event was timed to coincide with the World Football Day celebrated on May 25 on the planet and was organized by the Football Federation of Turkmenistan together with the Merv football club in order to popularize this sport among the younger generation.
The program of the sports festival consisted of a series of game tasks, which included relay races, goal kicks, ball juggling and mini-matches. The exercises were supervised by qualified trainers.
The festival left vivid impressions on the children. Upon its completion, all the participants received memorable gifts.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC), of which Turkmenistan is a member, has been holding this campaign since 2013 in order to attract children all over Asia to this sport.
