On October 13, the closing ceremony of World Expo 2025 was held in Osaka.
The event was attended by members of the Japanese Imperial Family, representatives of the Japanese government, the World Expo 2025 Association, the Osaka Prefectural Government, as well as a number of high-ranking guests from various countries, representatives of national pavilions, and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Japan. Turkmenistan was represented by a delegation led by Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations N.Agakhanov.
Opening the event, Secretary-General of the World Expo 2025 Association, Hiroshima Ishige, celebrated the successful completion of World Expo 2025 in Osaka and expressed deep gratitude to all the national pavilions that directly participated in hosting this World Expo.
The national flag of Japan was then raised and the national anthem was performed.
Speaking at the event, I. Yoshitaka, Minister for Expo 2025 Japan, T. Masakazu, Chairman of the Expo 2025 Association, and H.Yoshimura, Governor of Osaka Prefecture, noted that Expo 2025 has transformed Osaka into a popular tourist destination.
His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Akishino and Prime Minister of Japan S.Ishiba also spoke at the event.
Videos were shown of the Expo’s events held throughout the year. Furthermore, a prominent feature of the event was performances by cultural figures.
Following the closing ceremony, the Expo flag was lowered and respectfully presented to the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was awarded the right to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh.
