An event for the CIS media community took place in Sochi: a joint meeting of the Council of Heads of State and Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Organizations of the CIS Member States and the Administrative Council of the Interstate Information Pool, according to the country’s International Information Center.
The meeting discussed key issues related to media coverage of major events in 2025, including Tajikistan’s chairmanship, the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, and a number of international cultural and sports projects, such as “Lachin – Capital of Culture,” “Gabala – Youth Capital of the CIS,” and “Ganja – Sports Capital.” The results of the Council’s work and that of the Mir International Television and Radio Broadcasting Company were also summarized, and plans for covering events in 2026 in honor of the 35th anniversary of the CIS were outlined.
During the ceremony held during the meeting, Turkmenistan’s contribution to the development of international information cooperation was highly commended. The Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the CIS and the Mir International Television and Radio Broadcasting Company awarded Annasakhet Kakayev, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting, and Cinematography, the “Tree of Friendship” gold medal. This prestigious international award was presented for significant contributions to the creation of a unified information space within the CIS and the strengthening of humanitarian ties between peoples, as well as for promoting Turkmenistan’s positive image on the global stage.
Representatives of Russia and Belarus also received awards for their contributions to developing humanitarian ties. Turkmenistan actively participates in international initiatives, which is supported through the International Information Center of Turkmenistan, which plays a key role in establishing professional contacts and implementing joint projects with leading global media organizations.
The Center also promotes the dissemination of objective information on the country’s domestic and foreign policies, as well as the cultural and spiritual values ​​of the Turkmen people.
