On March 27, 2025, at the initiative of the Russian side, a videoconference meeting of members of the inter-parliamentary friendship group operating in the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation has held.
During the conversation, the sides emphasized that inter-parliamentary dialogue has become an important part of deepening cooperation between the two countries, and the creation of inter-parliamentary friendship groups on a bilateral basis increases opportunities for exchanging experience in legislative work and the development of parliamentary diplomacy.
At the end of the meeting, the sides noted that the role of parliamentary cooperation in the implementation of Turkmenistan’s policy on the development of equal, mutually beneficial cooperation, based on the principles of positive Neutrality declared in foreign policy is increasing, in this regard the organization of working visits and meetings of parliamentary representatives in the future will be of great importance.
Also members of the inter-parliamentary friendship group were invited to take part in international events at the highest level, which will be held on the occasion of the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust and the glorious 30th anniversary of the permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.
